Risto Kiiskilä was born 1947 in Lahti, Finland.Coming to Germany for his university studies he started Karate training in1970. He joined the German National Team in1975 and was succesfull as Vice-World-Champion (Team) in 1975 and 1977. He stayed with the team for 7 years, 3 times winner of German Championships (Individual) in 1977-1979.

After some years of instructing in former German Karate Federations he is now responsible for the eastern region as DJKB Instructor. Since 1985 Risto runs his own Dojo in Frankfurt, Main specialising in methods of age depending approaches to Karate.

He is also is founder of Finland ‘s greatest Karate Club in his hometown Lahti with international succesful karateka.
