His first teachers being Bernd Goetz (former National Coach of DJKB) and Kanazawa-Shihan, Bernd Hinschberger graduated for Shodan in 1969. He trained hard 4 times a week for2-4 hours during the times of Military Service and University education, also preparing same time for his profession as a High-School teacherand passing final examinations in 1973. His brother Horst being a very succesfull national and international competitor during this time, Sensei started his carreer as a national and inernational highly respected referee, licensed by Nakayama-Shihan and Enoeda-Shihan.
In 1970 Ochi-Shihan, moving to Germany and taking over Kanazawa-Shihan`s position as National Coach of DKB stayed his first weks in Germany at Bernd`s Dojo, instructing every evening. From this time Bernd regards Ochi-Shihan as hisKarate-teacher up to today, not only concerning technical skill, but social and human relationships as well. Leading his own Dojo through 1970-1980 and working as an international referee Sensei also could take advantage in accompagnying his wife Petra, a member of famous Female Kata Team, to European as well as World Championships. In 1991 ongoing tendencies of a split in traditional Karate versus Sports-Karate made him making up his mind for revitalizing ideals and teachings of traditional JKA-Karate, going back to the roots of 1960. Together with Ochi-Shihan and a group of oldert students he founded DJKB.(German-JKA-Karate-Association) in 1993. Hinschberger-Sensei
today is President of DJKB, his wife Petra is managing association`s headquarters. Present a 5th Dan he is still leading his own Dojo instructing his Master class regulary 2 times a week. |
